Transition Journal Prompts

Have you ever been in a place or time where you are just not sure what to do?

During times of transition especially it can feel like we may be stuck and unsure of what steps to take next.

For the majority of us, our minds and bodies thrive off of the predictable and routine. Whenever, there is a wrench thrown into our daily stability it can feel like:

  • There is something wrong with the way I am doing things.

  • Why do things feel extra hard all of a sudden?

  • I am always getting backtracked and off my plan!

Know that it is normal to feel thrown off course and that things are extra difficult when things have shifted in our lives.

During times like this, it can be important to press the reset button to gain extra clarity on how it would feel best to move forward.

Here are some journal prompts that may help:

  1. What would my ideal day look like?

  2. What does self-care look like for me in this moment?

  3. What can I declutter from my immediate environment (externally and internally) to clear my plate and bring ease?

It is so important that we are gentle with ourselves during times of transition.

When we have an internal dialogue that is chastising, that does nothing but send us deeper down into a shame spiral and hole.

It is normal to have periods where things are unclear or seem to be shifting. It is how we learn what is most aligned with us and what we are stepping into next (Expert insight: more often than not, it is better than we can even imagine).
