Morning Journal Prompts

Last month we took a deep dive into how starting our mornings off on the right foot can help set the tone for the rest of our day. If you haven’t been able to run the experiment yet during your morning routine, no worries!! If so, please leave me a comment and let me know how it went for you!

This month, we are looking at the possibility of adding morning journaling into our routines. I know some of you may be excited and pumped at the prospect of having prompts provided for you so that you don’t have to think twice about what to write about. Others of you may be letting out a huge sigh right now (maybe even a couple eye rolls, lol) at the idea of adding in ANOTHER task to your day.

Fret not - those who have worked with me before know I live by the mantra of “keep what aligns and toss the rest”.

With those willing to try some new morning journal prompts, you may want to set the scenery first by getting a fresh beverage (chai tea or earl grey with coconut milk is my fav), having a designated writing spot (love natural light), and possibly lighting a candle or having your favorite throw blanket on hand.

Now that we have gotten all comfy and cozy, here are the prompts:

  1. What are three things that I am grateful for? (feel free to write more)

  2. What am I choosing to let go of?

  3. What intentions am I setting for my day?

  4. What are ways I can best support myself?

  5. What is a special message I gift myself with?

Wonderful!! We allow ourselves to set the tone for our day by giving space to honor ourselves in our current experience and how we would like to envision our day to flow. Please feel free to tweak the prompts however you see fit to best work for you whether you only choose one to do each day or whether you would like to change up another entirely. This is your practice, so please make it your own.
