What is "Earthing"?

We have heard a lot out there in terms of “grounding”, but have you ever heard of the term “earthing”?

Some use the term interchangeably, but earthing is intentionally connecting with the earth and all of its benefits by either placing your bare feet on the ground outside or by using a device that helps you stay grounded with the earth.

The benefits of earthing go into more scientific discussions about how our body’s immune system utilizes white blood cells and free radicals to help stabilize the system. Sometimes during this process, electrons may be taken from healthy cells when necessary. This is said to add to the overall inflammation process that becomes systemic and contributes to many overall health and mental health imbalances.

Earthing allows our bodies to utilize the exchange of electrons from the earth's abundance of free electrons which naturally flow when we connect with it.

This connection reduces inflammation along with many other benefits:

  • Reduce fatigue and increased energy

  • Reduce chronic pain

  • Faster recovery from exercise

  • Enhance/elevate mood

  • Reduce blood pressure and hypertension

  • Support heart health

  • Improve Sleep Quality

It is said that 30 minutes is the minimum amount of time to receive benefits from earthing (although some report a variation to this time frame).

Different ways to begin trying earthing could be by connecting your bare feet with:

  • Grass, Sand, Dirt & Soil

  • Plants & Living Trees (especially with wet bark)

  • Gravel & Rock (that is touching the earth)

  • Unsealed Concrete (or coated with a water-based sealant)

  • Unsealed Brick (or coated with a water-based sealant)

  • Bodies Of Water (like oceans, lakes, and streams)

If you want products for your home to earth inside you can look at earthing.com.

I have personally been using this blanket. (Note: I will only ever recommend things I love, but I may earn small affiliate commissions from Amazon for qualifying purchases from links that I share).
