Silencing Your Inner Critic

Who here has gotten into the trap where they feel that the more critical they are of themselves the better the outcome will be in the long run?

We humans learn by mistakes. From our earliest footsteps we learned to move through this world by literally falling. In order to accomplish that feat, do you think we constantly talked down to ourselves in order to do so? No. So why do we do that now?

Our inner-critic could have been formed through programming at a young age where we received messages that we weren’t good enough, never did anything right, or that we needed to be someone else in order to be seen as valuable in another’s eyes.

We come into this world inherently worthy, perfect, and deserving of love. When the inner-critic starts playing it’s old tapes - stop and ask yourself if you would speak to a 3-5 year old or your best friend in the same manner.

It’s okay to make mistakes. It’s okay not to have everything figured out. It’s okay to be however you are whenever you are.

We are all imperfectly perfect. How do you show love to your inner critic and begin to be your own best friend? Let me know in the comments!

Yours in wellness and healing,

Angela
