Connecting with Nature - Indoors

Finding it difficult to be able to go outdoors these days due to allergies, weather, or other health and time-related issues?

Research has shown that the positive effects of nature go beyond spending time outdoors.

Not only can connecting into our natural environment speed up recovery times, it can also decrease mental fatigue/fog, lessen anxiety, all while clearing our minds and bodies to allow us to live more presently in the now.

What are ways we can utilize the benefits of nature if we are stuck indoors or don’t feel like venturing out?

  1. Watch nature scenes on YouTube. You can make this either a meditative practice or just have them on in the background while you are working/cleaning the house.

  2. Connect in with all of the amazing documentaries such as Planet Earth to learn more about our planet and see just how far its beauty extends.

  3. Follow travel bloggers on Instagram or search for nature scenes on Pinterest.

  4. Order plants to be delivered or start an indoor herb garden.

  5. Find a guided meditation that walks you through a mystical forest or along the beach.

  6. Listen to nature sounds on their own or mixed with healing binaural beats, Native American flute, and/or drumming.

What ways do you enjoy connecting in with nature when you can’t go outdoors? I’d love to hear from you!

Yours in wellness and healing,

Angela
